We need your support!
As parents you play an important part in your son’s/daughter’s Scouting life. Apart from ensuring that your child gets to and from the meeting in a timely manner, there are many ways that you can be involved.
Aside from the weekly meetings, there are other visible events such as camps, fun days, St George’s Day, Remembrance Sunday, hikes and competitions.
There are the ‘invisible’ ones as well – fundraising, HQ maintenance, Marquee erection and dismantling, equipment maintenance, Group Executive to name but a few.
We hope that every family will be involved in something more than merely delivering / collecting your child from the weekly meeting.
Please take time at the end of the meeting to come into the HQ and have a look at the noticeboard on the left hand side (as you enter the hall). This will become the ‘Parentpoint’ – an area when information aimed at parents, which is not specifically related to the section, will be displayed.
We encourage you to come into the HQ at the end of the meeting – that way we will get to know you, you will get to know us and most importantly, the leaders will know that your child is going home with someone he/she knows.
Please don’t sit in your car and wait for your child – or wait outside or in the small hall – come in. At the end of the meeting, presentations are often made. You may see your child being presented with a badge or award, or find out what has been going on at the meeting.
We have a small but dedicated band of leaders, helpers and committee members. With just that extra support just think of how much more can be achieved.
With approximately 50 families represented that would make a heck of a difference in the Group. Although we are looking for more Scouters / Leaders to support the ones we have, we hope you see that it is not just Uniformed Leaders that the group needs (we will, of course, be pleased to talk to anyone about helping in one of the sections) – there are many ways to help the group – YOUR GROUP.
