The group needs more help.
The section leaders and assistants are too thin on the ground as are the behind the scenes people. There have been occasions when weekly meetings have been cancelled due to lack of leaders and adult helpers.
The Group Executive committee has too few members.
The majority of the people actively involved in the group no longer have sons or daughters in the group.
This is not a good state of affairs. There is no way to sugar coat it – the group needs more adults to support the group – and by the group we mean the young people in the group. We are looking to all the families in the group and in time will be contacting them with the challenge of helping in some way in the group.
For the time being we need help on HQ maintenance, marquee erection and of course the visible face of Scouting – we need assistant leaders. It does not matter whether you have a Scouting background or not as training for the role is provided. Age is no barrier, the ‘retirement age limit’ has been done away with so if you cannot help personally then maybe you have parent/ aunt/ uncle who could.
If you think that you can help in advance of me contacting you, please feel free to contact me by email.
